Jersey Heritage protects and promotes the Island's rich heritage and cultural environment.  We aim to inspire people to nurture their heritage in order to safeguard it for the benefit and enjoyment of everyone.  Jersey Heritage have 8 sites open to the public which include; castles, museums and Neolithic dolmen.  Jersey Heritage also care for many of the Island's fortifications and have converted 8 properties into self catering accommodation or 'stone tent' sites available for the public to hire.

Barge Aground St Ouen

Barge Aground, the only self-catering accommodation in St Ouen‘s Bay with direct access to the beach, is a boat-shaped folly – surrounded by a patio – built in the 1930s.

It sleeps six adults, plus one baby (cot on request), in two bunk bedrooms in the ‘ stern ‘ and a sofa bed in a central lounge/diner. The kitchen and shower/toilet are located in the ‘prow’. This unique property is close to water and beach sports, cafés, Les Mielles and La Moye Golf courses and La Mielle de Morville Nature Reserve. The perfect location for families, surfers, ramblers and bird watchers. Dogs are not permitted.

Fort Leicester, Bouley By, Trinity

Fort Leicester is a magnificent 19th century fort in an elevated and secluded spot at the base of a towering headland above the picturesque harbour in Bouley Bay. Built to defend the Island from French invasion, the fort has been converted to accommodate up to eight people in two separate buildings over three levels.

With two gardens and a balcony area and stunning views to the distant French coast, Fort Leicester is ideal for a relaxing family holiday with a difference. Jersey's outstanding north coast footpath network is on the doorstep and the bay provides safe bathing, excellent fishing and water sports. Two dogs are permitted.

La Corbiere Radio Tower, St Brelade

Corbière Radio Tower was built in 1942 as a German observation post. The 18-metre high tower stands sentinel over another Jersey landmark, Corbière Lighthouse. This property offers stylish selfcatering accommodation for six plus one baby (cot on request).

It is not suitable for toddlers and dogs are not permitted. The identical bedrooms – all with en-suite shower/toilet – occupy the second to fourth floors. A fitted kitchen and additional toilet are located on the fifth floor. The top floor has been converted into a living/dining area, furnished in the Bauhaus style, with panoramic views over the Island and on clear days to Guernsey, Herm and Sark.

Elizabeth Castle Apartment, St Helier

If you are looking for your own secluded castle, then the flat at Elizabeth Castle is the perfect holiday location. The castle is open seven days a week, March to November as a public attraction, but when the gates close the only other people on site are two resident staff.

The simple but comfortable apartment is located over two floors in an old barrack block off the central parade ground. Built on an offshore islet a short distance from West Park, the castle is cut off by the tide twice a day. During opening hours access is by a regular amphibious ferry or by foot at low tide. The accommodation sleeps six plus one baby (cot on request). Dogs are not permitted.

La Crête Fort, St John

La Crête Fort, between Bonne Nuit Harbour and Giffard Bay, is a remarkable military construction dating from the 1830s. The accommodation sleeps four plus one baby (cot on request) in a costal retreat on a secluded promontory. Guests enjoy total privacy inside the eclectic collection of rooms and in a large sheltered, suntrap gun platform with dramatic views inland of towering cliffs and headlands and over the sea to France and Sark. Accessed by a narrow, unsealed track, which forms part of Jersey ‘ s coastal footpath network, La Crête is the ideal escape from modern life. Two dogs are permitted.
